The dean of the UV’s Faculty of Nursing and Podiatry, Julio Fernández, has been appointed chairperson of the Conferencia nacional de decanos de las facultades de medicina españolas (National Lecture of the Deans of the Spanish Nursing Faculties) composed of 92 faculties representatives. The CNDE is the organization which gathers the representation of all the Spanish universities, public and private, in which Nursing is taught.
The current dean of the UV’s Faculty of Nursing and Podiatry has been appointed this Thursday 7 July in a meeting in the Nursing School of the Complutense University of Madrid.
Julio Fernández, elected for four years, has expressed that the main goals will be the intercommunication with ANECA (National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation of Spain) in order to incorporate Nursing professionals among the members of the Evaluation Commissions which decide the teaching staff’s certification and the evaluation of the research activity (every six years), together with the actions with the UNO to achieve the creation of a UNESCO Code to classify research in Nursing (currently non-inexistent).
Moreover, the Management Board is formed by the deans of Nursing Cristina Monforte (Universitat Internacional de Catalunya), Ana Fernández (University of Valladolid) and Almudena Arroyo (University of Seville), and J.A. Hurtado (University of Alacant).
The CNDE is the national organization which gathers the representation of all the Spanish universities, public and private, in which the Degree in Nursing is taught and it is composed of 92 faculties representatives. Its mission is to configure a shared space for exchange, reflection and analysis of the topics related to this University Degree. It also looks for becoming a benchmark for academic, social and professional orientation in nursing. At the same time, the CNDE is the direct speaker with the Ministerio de Educación, Cultura y Deporte (Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports) regarding everything in relation to graduate and postgraduate training, as well as with the Ministerio de Sanidad, Servicios Sociales e Igualdad (Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality), regarding the professionals’ training.
