
The principal, Esteban Morcillo, has presided over this Thursday a recognition event of 11 students from the Universitat de València awarded with the National Award of Degree Excellence of the 2011-2012 academic year. Moreover, have been given the Awards of Carmen Izquierdo Besante Monzó Foundation to students with the best academic performance among the graduate and among the new students of the 2014-2015 academic year. The session has taken place in the meeting room in the Office of the Principal.
Furthermore, have attended to the event Isabel Vázquez Navarro, vice-principal for studies and language policy; María José Añón, general secretary of the university; Javier Pastor, representing Carmen Izquierdo Besante Monzó Foundation; and deans of the centres in which awarded students belong.
National Awards of Degree Excellence are prizes given by the Education, Culture and Sports Minstry. The students from Universitat de València awarded are: Clara Belén Martínez Meca (graduated in Sociology and Political and Public Administration Sciences); Úrsula Pérez Ramírez (graduated in Electronic Engineering for Telecommunications); Samuel López Carril (graduated in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences); M. Teresa Pallarés Ramos (graduated in History); M. Ángeles Pérez Martín (graduated in History of Art); Francisco Torrentí Salom (graduated in Physics); Azuela M. García Ramos (graduated in Economics); Ana M. Morant Gimeno (graduated in History of Art); Juan Alcón Illanes (graduated in Philosophy); and Alberto Martí Rodrigo (graduated in Pharmacy). With 11 National Awards, the Universitat de València consolidates among the three Spanish universities with more awarded students.
Carmen Izquierdo Besante Monzó Foundation gives four prizes of 500 euros to best records of 2014-2015 academic year, one for each branch of knowledge. The awarded have been: Marc Jornet Sanz, from the Degree in Mathematics (in the area of Sciences, Engineering and Architecture); Cristina Zapata de Miguel, from the Degree in Psychology (Health Sciences); Pablo Sanahuja Ferrer, from the Degree of History (Art and Humanities); and Daniel Hernández Rodríguez, from the Degree in Law (Social and Legal Sciences).
Moreover, this Foundation has been given four awards to the best new students in 2014-2015 academic year, one for each branch of knowledge. The awarded have been: Álvaro Luis Martínez Ruiz, from the Degree in Mathematics (in the area of Sciences, Engineering and Architecture); Alba Payá Pérez, from the Degree in Psychology (Health Sciences); Francesc Xavier Teodoro Alandete, from the Degree of Philosophy (Art and Humanities); and Cristina Terol Giner, from the Degree in Law (Social and Legal Sciences).
