The research vice-principal of the University, Pedro M. Carrasco, and the Parc Científic director, Juan Antonio Raga, presented the PCUV, the catalogue with the technological offer of the companies of the Universitat de València’s scientific park, last Friday. Representatives of the various companies in the park, including Mª José Ortolá, deputy director Promotion of Entrepeneurship , and Juan Vicente Climent, head of the Entrepeneurship office at the Conselleria d’Educació, Formació i Ocupació (Education and Employment department of the Valencian government) attended the event.
The catalogue, which is presented in a digital way, is an operative synthesis of the technological capabilities, the products and the services that the companies in the park can offer to the productive system, as well as a tool to promote these companies. The catalogue also includes data on the identity of each company, their technical specifications, the innovative aspects regarding their products, their applications, their competitive advantages and their areas of commercial interest.
The scientific park gathers more than seventy scientific-technological companies, especially from the area of Biotechnology and TIC (Information and Communication Technology), but also companies working on Energies, Nanotechnology, Materials, Environment, Psycology, Sociology and Linguistics.
PCUV’s director, Juan Antonio Raga, appreciates the effort that the companies have done to create this document, “wich, at last, is a life tool at your service”, and announces the next English version of the catalogue.
Raga brought in some characteristics of the PCUV companies, which are employing almost 400 high qualified employees, pointing out the importance of multidisciplinary skills, “the companies comprising several disciplines are the key to success”, and the cooperation, too. “We are living in an entrepreneurial context in which collaboration is scarce. We need to outgot his and build a collaboration bridge in order to launch new ideas”, said the director, referring to successful cases born in the scientific park.
The wide range in business areas within the scientific park -from Biotechnology, Energy or Nanotechnology to Sociology, among others- makes this catalogue a valuable document for many economic sectors.
