Secondary Education students do the Math test of the Canguro Project

Students of 3rd year and 4th year of ESO (Spanish Secondary Education) and students of 1st year and 2nd year of Bachillerato (Spanish upper secondary school education) have done the Math test of the Canguro Project in its 2014 edition. The test will be simultaneously carried out in around fifty countries and hundreds of thousands of students take part in the (there were more than six millions of students in 2011). This year there have been around 4.500 students taking part in all Valencian venues, more than 160 centres.

The test Canguro is an activity inspired by the international society ‘Le Kangourou sans Frontières’ (Kangaroo without borders) (http://www.cangur.org/cangur/cang2014). Its goal is encourage and motivate the learning of Mathematics through 30 mathematical challenges, of increasing difficulty and closed answer, with five option to each problem, where the contestants have an hour and a quarter to solve them.

In the local organization of the test takes part Al-Khwarizmi the Society of Mathematical Education and the Valencian public universities, and it has the support of the Catalan Society of Mathematics.
