VII Trofeu Universitat de València’s pilota tournament finished last Saturday at Pelayo court. In the final, Soro III and Dani beat (60-50) Álvaro, Jesús and Tomás II. Although all the sportsmen exhibited an exellent play, the winners, Soro III and Dani, and their rival, Jesús, deserve a special mention.
At the beginning of the final match, the winner trio already controlled the game with a three games lead (15-30).
Then, the couple increased its level of play, putting 25-30 on the scoring board.
From this moment, both teams led the match alternately. The match became a points exchange, and the playing quality was so high that the public corresponded the players with several ovation.
The awards ceremony has been presided by the Valencian Ministry for Governance, Serafín Castellano, along with José Campos, director of the physical education and sports service at Universitat de València, and the Universitat de València’s manager, Joan Oltra.
