It is now available for consultation the portal website ‘Sinergia’, the Spanish University Orchestra Network. From today, in http://www.sinergia.red/ it is opened a new space which collects all the musical experience in Spanish universities.

The Universitat de València, through its General Foundation and the Music Club, held last July in La Nau the launch conferences of  ‘Sinergia’ that coincided with the 20 anniversary of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Universitat. It brought together the 15 university orchestras with the with the aim of strengthening bonds and exploring new ways to spread their programmes.

Although the universities have university musical formations, different camera groups, groups of different styles, chorus..., there are few higher institutions which have created their own philharmonic orchestras, since it is an ambitious project which implies the gathering of 80 people, apart from technical staff and administrative support.

With the launch of this virtual platform, the network creates a space where, besides the publication of detailed information of the programming, orchestras are up on date about what their counterpart do.  From training courses to the participation in festivals that some university orchestras organise. The possibilities are endless and now available in real time for everyone.

It is not only about offering to the public a showcase with the activity of the musical university associations, but also to join efforts to create a common project, this is why the chosen name is ‘Sinergia’. The initiative came from the Universitat de València as a consequence of the meeting that was held last June.

In addition to its virtual presence in the web portal, the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Universitat will participate actively in a concert tour as a result of the web ‘Sinergia’ in an exchange with the university orchestras of Granada and Murcia between 9 and 12 of March. During the tour there will be two concerts: 9 of March at the Faculty of Humanities in Granada and 11 of March at El Batel Auditorium in Cartagena.
