Universitat de València’s Fòrum de Debats is having today, May 9th, the historian Francisco Espinosa, one of the researchers studying the Spanish Civil War and its darkest chapter, repression, since the 80’s. His lecture is on the Spanish justice, Garzón, and the crimes under Franco’s regime. The event is taking place at 20:00 in cultural centre La Nau’s Aula Seminario. Entrance is free but limited to space. The lecture is going to be chaired by the Universitat de València’s lecturer Miguel Ángel García Calavia.
Francisco Espinosas’ meticulous researches have focused on the Second Republic and the consequences of the military coup in July 1936 in the southwest of Spain. La guerra civil en Huelva, 1996; La columna de la muerte, 2003; La justicia de Queipo, 2006; Contra el olvido, 2006; Callar al mensajero, 2009, and recently, Masacre, 2011, are some of his works.
Francisco Espinosa has been scientific coordinator of Todos los Nombres, an initiative which tries to create a database with all the repressed people during Franco’s regime.
