He was born in Felanitx (Majorca) and he was a contradictory and fascinating figure who realised a huge work in Catalanism cultural and politic framework, although, later, he would be Franco’s representative of Spain in the UNESCO. Also, it includes some articles of Nerea Miravet about Zygmunt Bauman, articles of Ignacio Sánchez Cuenca about the shift to the right of Spanish intellectuals (with nationalism as a reason why) and articles of Faust Ripoll and Pau Viciano about the work and figure of Sanchis Guarner from his study about the city of Valencia and his work as historian. Moreover, there are three emerging politic voices: Ada Colau (interviewed by Víctor Maceda), Mònica Oltra and David Fernàndez share their points of view about the present politic situation and the prospects of an important change to come.
In the section “Converses” (Conversations), Rafael L. Ninyoles revises his career as a Valencian implicated sociolinguistic and intellectual with Toni Mollà. “Fulls de dietari” (Journal’s sheets) presents a sample of the new work of the poet and writer, Àlex Susanna, entitled Quadern pirenenc. “Documents” (Documents) publishes a speech of Santiago Rusiñol in honour of el Greco, presented by the historian, Francisco Fuster. In the section which focuses on literary criticism, Joan Ramon Resina, Antoni Defez, Xavier Aliaga, Toni Mollà and Antoni Mora write about the works of Ernst Robert Curtius (L’esperit alemany en perill, edited by Antoni Martí Monterde), Joan Vergés (La nació necessària), Joan Fuster (Correspondència, vol. 14), Josep Gifreu (El català en l’espai de comunicació) and Jordi Marrugat (Narrativa catalana de la posmodernitat).
