The UV pays tribuite to Mª Cruz Cabeza Sánchez-Albornoz this Monday, on 24 March at 19:00 at the Auka Magna of the Centre Cultural La Nau. Mª Cruz Sánchez-Albornoz, who passed away last 2 January, entered entered the Corps of Archivists, Librarians and Archaeologists in 1971 and her first destination was the library of the School of Filosofy and Literature of the UV.Since 1986 she has been the head of the Historic Library of the UV. She retired last 31 Dicember.
In the tribute many authorities will take part: Esteban Morcillo, Principal of the UV; Pedro Ruiz, full university professor of Contemporany History of the UV; Francisco Gimeno, full universoty professor of Paleography and Dilomatics of the UV; Victoria García Esteve, head of the Service of Libreries and Documentation of the UV; Máximo Cabeza Sánchez-Albornoz; y María Lutgarda Ortells Pérez, technician of the Historic Library of the UV.
Mª Cruz Cabeza actively took part in all library projects carried out by the institution, she intensely worked in the European project "Europeana Regia" which goal was the digitalization of Medieval and Renaissance manuscripts. The Historical Library of the UV preserves a valuable cllection of those manuscripts.
