Universitat de València is among the 400 best universities in the world, according to the Shanghai ranking of the year 2015. According to this prestigious classification, that is published on 15th August, the UV stands in the section among the 300 to 400 best universities of the planet.

The 2015 Shanghai ranking places Universitat de València also among the best universities of Spain, surpassed only by the University of Barcelona, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and the Autonomous University of Madrid.
