Universitat de València signs several cooperation agreements with Cocemfe-Valencia and Fundación Prevent

Universitat de València has signed three cooperation agreements with Federación Valenciana de Asociaciones de Personas con Discapacidad Física y Orgánica de la Provincia de Valencia (Cocemfe-Valencia) and the private foundation Prevent. The goal of these agreements is to establish the common working lines aimed at promoting social, health and employment integration of disabled people.

The agreement between Universitat de València and Cocemfe-Valencia, thanks to the Unit for the Integration of Disabled People, has the aim of promoting full integration of disabled students in the different spheres of the university. Fundación Lluís Alcanyís and Cocemfe-Valencia have also signed a second agreement for the implementation of assistance programmes benefiting the associations within Cocemfe. Social and health normalization of disabled people is the goal of this agreement.

Both institutions will work in three programmes: the service for integration in the employment market, the programme for the increasing of the personal autonomy, and the programme of adapted transportation.

Moreover, Universitat de València will make access to university studies easier for these people as well as the access to adapted sports and employment market integration.

The Principal of UV Esteban Morcillo, the Vice-President of Cocemfe-Valencia Antonio Muñoz, the manager of UV’s General Foundation Cristóbal Suria, the Director of Fundació Lluís Alcanyís José Manuel Americh, the Vice-Principal for Academic Arrangement María Vicenta Mestre, and the Director of the UV’s Unit for the Integration of Disabled People Celeste Asensi are some of the people attending the signing.

Social and labour integration

The agreement signed between UV and Fundación Prevent joins to the institution’s tools to improve the welfare of disabled students.

Among the general working lines settled between both institutions it stands out the promotion of academic activities through in-company internships and the writing of end of degree projects and doctoral thesis. These projects will provide design and technology solutions for disabled people.

The agreement includes promotion of sport activities for disabled students, cooperation between services for the employment integration of both institutions and participation in conferences, workshops, etc.

The Principal Esteban Morcillo; Montserrat Moreno and Doriana Bagnoli from Fundación Prevent have atended the agreement signing, along with the Vice-Principal Maria Vicenta Mestre, Celeste Asensi and María José Espinaco, from the Unit for the Integration of Disabled People.
