The Universitat passes the international double degree un Chemistry and master’s degree in Contemporary Philosophic Though

The Universitat has passed the international double degree in Chemistry/Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry or Experimental Techniques in Chemistry with the ECPM-Université Strasbourg, and a double master’s degree in Contemporary Philosophic Though with the University of Calabria. The Governing Council has read a manifest in favour of the LGTB and has passed the aid programme to high-performance athletes.

The Governing Council of the Universitat has passed during the session a new double degree to the 2016/17 course, in particular the Degree in Chemistry7 Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry or Experimental Techniques in Chemistry (UV) Diplôme de Ingenieur/Grade and master’s degree in ‘Science et Technologies’ (ECPM-Université Strasbourg). Moreover, in the proposal of convenes presented by the vice-principal for  for Studies and Language Police, Isabel Vázquez, has been approved the offer of the international double master’s degree in Contemporary Philosophical Though/Corso di Laurea Magistrale in Scienze Filosofiche de la Università *della Calabria.

Furthermore, during the session, concurring with the celebration of the LGTB Pride Day, they have read a manifest to defend rights of the LGTB community. At 12:00 members of the Council have concentrated in the office of the Principal to show their support to the rights of the collective. The Universitat de València considers necessary the visibility and the exercise of individual rights of the LGTB community in the heart of an advanced society, respectful and plural, in  the current context where different studies shows violence situations over people for their sexual orientation that remind past social stigmas that a modern society must overcome. The Universitat has manifested its collaboration and support to the claims of LGTB community along last decades in different activity lines that, moreover, will be coordinated with collaboration convenes with the most representatives LGTB organizations, contributing this way to make the Universitat a friendly institution in international level which allows people freely to be expressed.

Elite and high-ranking sportspeople

The Governing council has approved its programme of aids to elite and high-ranking athletes of the Universitat de València The programme, in working since 1999, has been represented by the vice-principal for Culture and Equality, Antonio Ariño. In the course 2015/2016 of the 237 applications, 191 sportspeople were part of the programme. The objective is to support this sportspeople, so they can combine their university studies with sports practice, based on training, pre-match meeting, competitions and other activities needed for getting sport results. The programme involves the concession of economic aids, and economic-academic aids which can be accessed by all top-level athletes who have reached the stablished requirement.

New head of the Principal Peset Hall of Residence

During the session has been informed the appointment of the new head of the Principal Peset Hall of Residence, Carles X.  With an highlighted curricula in students management area and the participation in bodies of the government of the Universitat, López is senior Specialist for Cultural Promotion of the SeDi Information and Promotion Service. He joined the academic institution in 1999 in this service. Nowadays he is member of the claustrum, of the government council, of the Sustainability Committee and of the 0,7 Committee (Cooperation and Solidarity Programme). He is also representative of the Universitat de València in the Group of Fair Trade and Responsible Consume of the CRUE. He has experience in associative participation and in training.  Carles X. López replaces Ana Bonmatí, new responsible of Contents of the Cultural Centre Nau.

The Governing council of the Universitat de València has passed this Tuesday the offer of public occupation for 2016 y, on the other hand, the different calendars of management processes for the 201672017 course. The calendars, presented by the vice-principal for Teaching Staff and Academic Planning, Maria Vicente Mestre, advance some deadlines to rationalise the management. 

The session of the Governing council has supported also the rules of deposit, evaluation and defence of doctoral thesis. The changes have been done to improve the adaptation to the electronic headquarters and the composition of the court. Among the themes that have been also talked in the meeting highlights electronic convenes, the transfer of rights or the calling to new professor vacancies.

Finally has been approved the appointment and renovation of emeritus and honorary professors of the Universitat de València.
