The University incorporates more electric vehicles on the occasion of the Mobility Week

The University of Valencia integrates more electric vehicles on its campuses to celebrate the Mobility Week. The initiative is part of the project EVOMOBILE, which promotes the PCB and which is aimed at enhancing both the use of electric vehicles as the search for new sustainable models for the user community of the academic institution.

Currently all campuses of the University of Valencia have electric vehicles and charging points to be used as an observatory. It also has built in use recently of computer service and maintenance. All with the aim of investigating the actual economic and environmental impact of electric vehicles, as well as profiles of potential users and the potential that this form of transportation is available in regard to new forms of business.

Clara Martinez, Vice-Principal Sustainability and Infrastructures, Campus and Planning, explained that this activity is part of the Sustainable Campus Program, "Universitat strategy designed to promote sustainability actions at all levels. In addition, during the European Mobility Week, we want to encourage other institutions to promote initiatives like this and invest in the infrastructure needed to carry them out. "

The project EVOMOBILE, started a pioneering way of living-lab, is based on four pillars technology developed by companies linked to the Science and Technology Park. On the one hand, we have implemented a reservation management system, called BOOKITIT developed by NUBESIS. Also there has been a market research system developed by ESAM, a spin-off of the UV, dedicated to the development, maintenance and consulting Integrated Information Systems. Moreover, charging points have been created by ALKIME, a consulting firm that develops technology hardware, software and technological solutions. The fleet of vehicles has been provided by RENAULT RETAIL GROUP VALENCIA, NISSAN ALMENAR, SCOOTER PLAN, QB-BIKES and SOMOE.
