The University of Valencia has covered almost all places (99.51%) for first year students for 2014/2015, at its own centers and degrees. Students who have chosen degrees at the University of Valencia as their first choice sum 16,128 (15,349 last year), a number that confirms that this institution is the most preferred one out of the universities in the Autonomous Community.

The strength of the degrees supply within the University of Valencia has translated into high marks to course many of the degrees offered. This is the case, among others, of Medicine where the needed mark has been up to 12.656 in the general contingent while it was, in 2013, 12.523. This is the highest mark requested in all Valencian university system.

In the case of Biochemistry and Biomedicine, the cut-off grade has situated in 12.258 (12.021 in 2013). In Dentistry, the mark is 11.981 (11.903 last year). In Physics it has been a 11.894; in Biotechnology it is now necessary to have a 11,717 (11.53 last year); in Translation and Interlinguistic Mediation (English), a 11.714; and in Pharmacy/Human Nutrition and Dietetics, a 11.618.

The University of Valencia offered 8,520 places to first year students in simple and double degrees. There have only been 42 places left to assign in three degrees. In the rest there are waiting lists. Medicine stands out with 2,575 people in the list.

The Vice-principal for Studies and Language Policy in the University of Valencia, Isabel Vazquez, has expressed her gratitude for the pre-enrolment results. “The number of people that want to study here keeps on increasing and they express it selecting, as their first option, some of our degrees”. This increase, Isabel Vazquez highlighted, is manifested in all three campuses and in all branches of knowledge. The Vice-principal has remarked that the so-called “science” degrees have also experienced and increase in offer, which totally inverts the tendencies in former years.

For the second year in a row, the management of the waiting list will be done online in all cases. Those students who have obtained their place are called for briefings, as it is explained in the following site: http://links.uv.es/wYlm0ep

As an important novelty, those who are in a waiting list and are interested in obtaining the place, have to access the website of the University of Valencia and confirm, in each of the degrees they are in the list, their interest on continuing in the list. This way, they will be able to participate in the place adjudication in the following calls.

The dead line for the confirmation for the first call will be 27 July until midnight. If this confirmation is not done, the programme will automatically exclude the student from the list and, hence, the aspirant will lose the chance of being admitted in that degree.

The waiting lists are not done in-person; they are published in the University’s website at the end of the enrolment period of the admitted students. It is necessary for the aspirants to pay attention to the dates of the different calls.
