The University of Valencia presents this Wednesday, March 26, an online application to check the employability of its graduates, created by the Professional Placement and Careers Advice Monitoring Centre (OPAL). The event, open to the public, will be held in the Boardroom of the office of the Principal, at 13:00, and will have the participation of Principal Esteban Morcillo; Office of the Vice‐Principal for Postgraduate Studies, Rosa Marín: and director of the OPAL, Vicente Gonzalez-Roma.
The Professional Placement and Careers Advice Monitoring Centre, part of the University of Valencia General Foundation, has developed the online application designed to ease the personalized consultation of the main results of employability of the degrees (diplomatures and llicenciatures) analysed in the three editions of the Study of Employability of the University of Valencia.
This tool, launched under the acronym apRIL (Application of Results of Employability), allows us to obtain specific indicators for each degree, disaggregated by sex, and to observe its evolution over the last ten years. All results of this application are based on representative samples.
The accessible indicators through apRIL are grouped into five categories: assessment of the University of Valencia and their received training; characteristics of the first employment after getting the degree; employment status at the time of the survey; characteristics of current employment (at the time of the survey) or last (for those unemployed at the time of the survey); and the most usual employment situation since the degree.
It is the first application of these characteristics at the Valencian Country, which is also offered free-to-air. Its update will be constant and, during 2014, The Studies Area of the OPAL, responsible for the launching of apRIL, will begin the research on employability of the master’s degrees and degrees of the University.
