The University of Valencia has organized an academic ceremony in order to pay tribute to the memory of the professor and Minister of Public Health Ernest Lluch, who was murdered by ETA twelve years ago. The ceremony will be held next Friday 23, in the Hall Ignasi Villalonga at the Faculty of Economics (Tarongers Campus), from 10:30. The act can be seen via streaming through University’s TV (http://mediauni.uv.es/tv).
One more year, the University of Valencia remember the memory of the professor Ernest Lluch, who was murdered in 2000 by the terrorist group ETA, with an emotive academic ceremony that will be held at the Faculty of Economics. The ceremony will count on the presence of the Principal Esteban Morcillo, who will be accompanied by the Dean Vicent Soler and the President of the Valencia section of Ernest Lluch Foundation, Salvador Almenar.
The academician Miguel Herrero and Rodríguez de Miñón, from the Royal Academy of Moral and Political Sciences, will read, presented by the doctor Vicent Llombart, the master class Las tres vidas de la antigua Constitución de la Corona de Aragón. This reading will be followed by a civic event to remember the intellectual Ernest Lluch. It is a traditional event that consists on placing fresh flowers on the ceramics that the University dedicated to the professor on the front of the Faculty of Economics, the same that gives the name to the street with his name. Pere Joan Carrascosa, cellist, will set the tribute to music with the performance of Cant dels Ocells (Pau Casals version).
Ernest Lluch, professor of Economics by the University of Valencia, was a professor and a person politically and intellectually committed. He was murdered by ETA when he was 63 and already retired, for defending the dialogue and intellectual freedom.
The act can be seen via streaming through University’s TV (http://mediauni.uv.es/tv).
