Yesterday, the chairman of the Catalan employers’ association closed the course ‘Qui pot ser empresari?’

The chairman of the Catalan employers’ association Foment del Treball Nacional, Joaquín Gay, read the closing lecture of the 13th edition of the course ‘Qui pot ser empresari?’ (Who can be an employer?). This course was taught under the Universitat de València’s Chair of Enterprise Culture. The event started at 19:00 at the ADEIT’s conference hall. In his lecture ‘Empresarios ante la crisis’, Gay talked about how the current circumstances might be an opportunity to start a business.

What role must be played by employers in the light of the economic crisis? This was the lecture’s main topic which was read by Joaquín Gay. He also brought up the main difficulties the employers in Spain must overcome in order to make their companies grow.

The course ‘Qui pot ser empresari?’ was taken by 47 students from the Universitat de València’s different degrees. They learnt the business experiences of the most important employers in the Valencian Community, who collaborated with the course taught in ADEIT - University-Business Foundation of Valencia – and transmitted their knowledge on the subject.

Joaquín Gay has a law degree at Universitat de Barcelona. He is member of the executive committee of Confederación Española de Organizaciones Empresariales, executive director of Estram, S.L., chairman of Bodegas Torres del Veguer, and member of the territorial advisory board in Barcelona for Abertis Logística, S.A. as well. Nowadays, he is also chairman of the Catalan employers’ association Foment del Treball Nacional.

The course’s closing ceremony is having the Universitat de València’s Principal, Esteban Morcillo and the ADEIT’s president, Carlos Pascual. Other figures who are going to attend as well are: the president of the Chair, José Vicente Morata and its academic director, José Vicente González; the regional secretary of Economy, Industry and Trade at the Valencian Generalitat, José Monzonís, and other participants from the economic and social world.
