Yesterday, the Principal awarded the XI Premis de la Crítica of Institut de Filologia Valenciana

Universitat de València’s Principal, Esteban Morcillo, and the director of the Interuniversity Institute of Valencian Philology (IIFV), Ferran Carbó, awarded yesterday, March 1st, the XI Premis de la Crítica organized by this research institute. The event started at 12:00 with a lecture at La Nau’s main hall by Jaume Cabré ‘La creació del món’.

The prize Premi de Creació Literària is going to Raquel Ricart Real for her work Les ratlles de la vida; the prize of children literature is going to Fina Mas Grau and Lourdes Bellver for La rata Marieta; the theatre prize Premi d’Arts Escèniques i Audiovisuals, goes for Companyia L’Horta Teatre due to its trajectory; the communication and cultural dessemination prize Premi de Comunicació i Difusió Cultural is for Amanda Gascó for her documentary Una llengua que camina; and finally, the prize Premi d’Estudis Lingüístic y Literaris goes to Faust Ripoll for Valencianistes en la postguerra.

The goal of these prizes is the promotion of books published during the last year about different branches of knowledge within the published in the Valencian Community, or outside this community, but which are written by Valencian authors and focused on philological themes. With this initiative, the IIFV intends to have a better relationship with the literary world as well.

The prize giving of XI Premis de la Crítica is part of the events organized to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the publication of Nosaltres, els valencians by Joan Fuster.
