The UV launches the initiative 'Stay at home in a healthy and sustainable way'

The Office of the Vice-Principal for Equity, Diversity and Sustainability launches the project 'Stay at home in a healthy and sustainable way' with the aim at providing contents to help people to deal with the exceptional situation of the pandemic of COVID-19.

The delegation of Sustainability has launched the project 'Stay at home in a healthy and sustainable way', in which material produced by various centres and experts from the Universitat will be offered to help the society to face the current situation of the coronavirus crisis.

Thus, to maintain the welfare of body and mind in these confinement times, the initiative counts on the participation of experts from the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Psychology, Faculty of Physiotherapy, and Faculty of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences that are disinterestedly making material that tackle essential aspects of our welfare.

The three main points addressed by the 'Stay at home in a healthy and sustainable way' initiative refer to a specific healthy diet for the confinement time, to healthy physical activity and physiotherapy exercises to alleviate the possible effects of sedentary life and keep fit, and to maintain a serene attitude with evidence-based psychological tools the confinement due to coronavirus.

Specifically from the Faculty of Psychology, the LabPsiTec group led by Rosa María Baños will provide infographics aiming at fostering interaction and generating a support network in the general population.

From the Faculty of Medicine, the full university professor Dolors Corella will advice how to maintain a healthy diet  in order not to gain weight and to have a healthy supply of nutrients that will encourage the improvement of the immune system and the reduction of risk of other chronic diseases.

Regarding physical activity, the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (FCAFE) and the Faculty of Physiotherapy will offer therapeutic exercises, stretching  or even self-massage to do at home during the confinement period for the COVID-19 with the support of the FCAFE dean Salvador Illana and the vice-dean of Physiotherapy Gemma Espí.
