Academic, scientific or professional interest: Ethics and Political Philosophy are two dimensions of Philosophy very demanded by society. The Master’s Degree in Ethics and Democracy aims to respond to these demands, dealing with the great topics of Ethics and Politics, with special emphasis on democracy. For these we have the experiences of classical and contemporary philosophers and with other sources of knowledge, like literature and sciences. The Master’s is structured in two big sections The first refers to the Foundation of Ethics and Politics, and includes three sections like the following: democracy, citizenship, State and civil society, multiculturism and interculturism, global justice, cosmopolitanism, human development, solidarity, human rights, feminist theory and religion. The second section focuses on Applied Ethics in the differents spheres of social life: moral education in a pluralitisc and democratic society, economy and business, mass media, science and technology, with special attention to bioethics, biopolitics and ecological ethics The Master’s is linked to the Interuniversity Doctoral Studies in Ethics and Democracy, with Excellence Award, from which a leading research in Ethics, Political Philosophy and Applied Ethics is being developed. This pioneering research has made that the group of professors who teach it have been recognised as R&D Group of Excellence of the Valencian Government.
