Academic, scientific or professional interest: Nowadays and similarly to other health sciences fields, the training of nurses through degree university studies has made possible that the nursing professionals get a sufficient competence level of general nature.
Due to the scientific and technologic advance, the practice of nursing is evolving towards the need of a bigger specific knowledge and autonomy within the health world. Within this variety, the current Master’s Degree aims to widen the medical care and management training in Oncology Nursing that require a specific training to get a more efficient employment inclusion. On the other hand, regarding this greater autonomy that nursing has reached within the last decades, it is important standing out that other essential objective of this Master’s Degree is addressed to promote the researcher training of the oncology nursing professionals to allow for the entry to Doctoral Studies for Nursing cycles, already in place at the Universitat de València.
Therefore, the current Master’s Degree aims to form and promote both the assistance functions of nurses in the assistance field related to the care of the oncology patient and those tasks related to the management and research within oncology.
