The Festival of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology ’10alamenos9’ has launched the call for entries for the nano-stories competition aimed at secondary school and training cycle students. The deadline for submitting stories is 14 April. In the Valencian Community, the Festival is organised by the Institute for Molecular Science (ICMol) of the University of Valencia.

'10alamenos9’ is held annually in different cities with the aim of brining Nanoscience and Nanotechnology closer to citizens. It includes different activities of scientific dissemination that will begin on 30 March and will continue in April and May.

In this context, the competition named ‘Caben muchas historias dentro del nanomundo: explícanoslas’ (There are many stories inside the nanoworld: tell us about them) has just launched the call for entries for the 2021 edition. It is aimed at students of secondary and training cycle schools and it seeks to encourage interest in the nanoworld among the educational community.

The competition is held in two phases, regional and international level, and participants are organised into two age-groups. Deadline for the submission of projects is 14 April 2021. Terms and full information are available on the ‘10alamenos9’ section of the ICMol website. The competition has the collaboration of the University’s Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit (UCC+i).

For this Valencian edition of ‘10alamenos9’, the ICMOl has organised three types of activities. In addition to the nano-stories competition, a cycle of ‘Nanodialogues’ between young students and researchers is planned. As well as ‘Nanoscience Vermouth’ that will offer several talks and conferences. The full programme is available on the same website.

At the international level, the Festival has 16 of its own in Spain and Latin America.
