The Universitat de València, through the Master’s degree in Audiovisual Content and Formats, and the new public space for Valencian communication, À Punt, have organised the first edition of University Audiovisual Talent: Pitching Valencian universities in the audiovisual field, that will take place on 12 and 13 June at the Aula Magna of La Nau. It is an initiative that aims to highlight the audiovisual talent that has emerged in Valencian universities and to facilitate the first contact between students and the Valencian audiovisual sector.

The opening of this first edition of the University Audiovisual Talent will be on 12th June at 19:00h with a conference given by Francesc Escribano, director of “Minoría Absoluta”, under the name “Proximity audiovisual content in global communication”. The vice-principal for Culture and Equality of the Universitat de València, Antonio Ariño, and the director of Taller d'Audiovisuals de la Universitat de València, Miquel Francés will attend the event.

The following day, Wednesday the 13th, Pitching will be held from 9:00 to 18:00, and will consist of the exhibition and defence of 16 audiovisual formats made by students of the Universidad de Alicante, the Universitat Politècnica de València, the Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche, the Universitat Jaume I de Castellón, the Universidad Cardenal Herrera-CEU, and the Universitat de València, that is hosting this first edition.

The 16 projects have been selected by a commission made up of representatives of all the participating universities and À Punt according to their quality and viability. They are divided into four categories: fiction, documentary, new windows and television formats / entertainment. Students will have a maximum of seven minutes to defend their work. Then, an experts table made up of producers from the audiovisual sector and À Punt will evaluate the formats and express their doubts to the students.

After the presentations, students will have the opportunity to have face-to-face meetings with the attending producers interested in the projects. Among the projects developed in the Master's Degree in Audiovisual Content and Formats at the Universitat de València, the following have been selected:

- 3G: three generations under debate: intergenerational debate

- #Cromosommes: juvenile fiction series

- A tempo: documentary about the recovery of cultural and musical heritage

- El Verdugo: a fiction series about the implementation of the death penalty.

This initiative, which has the will to be repeated every year in different Valencian universities, is presented as an opportunity for students to come into direct contact with the reality of the current audiovisual sector and have direct feedback from experts in the field.
