Universitat de València offers the VPN service with which anyone with an active relationship with it can connect to the institution's network remotely and securely
Security is a priority for the Servei d'Informàtica, so this connection is made through a TLS tunnel using the free OpenVPN protocol.
Directive 807 of the 2017 National Security Scheme recommends the use of encryption and hash algorithms for such connections. These algorithms must be accredited by the CCN-CERT.
These requirements have made it necessary to update some parameters on our servers for VPN connections, thus preventing OpenVPN clients in their old versions to stop working, and it is necessary to review and install a new client program since February 15 of 2022, thus complying with the security directives at the state level by the University of Valencia.
