This should generate the ability to analyse stories and audiovisual works, considering the iconic messages of the texts as products of the social, political and cultural conditions in which they were produced.
  • CE2: Students should be able to understand and apply the techniques and processes of audiovisual production and transmission in the different phases, from the conception of a project until its commercialisation. This knowledge will lead to the development of the ability to plan and manage human resources, budget and technological resources, including all the processes involved in the management of audiovisual companies in their various fields.
  • CE3: Students should have a practical and theoretical understanding of the organisation structures within sound and visual communication, as well as its evolution and development over time, including audiovisual taxation. This also includes knowledge of, and research into, the interrelations between the natures of the subjects within audiovisual communication: authors, institutions, companies, the media, storage and recipients.
  • CE4: Students should be able to understand and apply the techniques and processes of audiovisual creation and transmission in their different phases, in not only cinema but also television, video and other multimedia forms from the point of view of the staging, from the initial idea until the final product. This leads to the ability to create and direct the staging of cinematographic, video-graphic or televised audiovisual productions, taking responsibility for the direction of actors and adjusting to the script, work plan or existing budget.
  • CE5: Students should have an understanding of ethics and professional deontology, as well as of the legal system of information, which affects both professional practice and the work of the communicator. Students should be able to interpret the impact of the legislative mechanisms on the audiovisual and communication fields, as well as the legal process that applies to the various aspects of audiovisual productions.
  • CE6: Students should be able to understand and apply the different mechanisms and elements of script making according to different formats, technologies and means of production. This also includes the theoretical and practical understanding of analysis, organisation and encryption of the iconic content and the audiovisual information within different technologies and foundations. Students should be capable of writing texts, programmes and scripts with fluency in the fields of cinematographic, video-graphic, radiophonic, televised, or multimedia fiction.
  • CE7: Students should understand and be able to apply resources, elements, methods and procedures to build and analyse both linear and non-linear audiovisual narratives. This includes design, the establishment and development of strategies, and the application of the policies of persuasive communication within the audiovisual markets.
  • CE9: Students should have an understanding of the spatial image and the iconic representations of space, in both still and moving images, as well as the formative elements of artistic direction. They should be able to analyse and plan relationships between images and sounds from aesthetic and narrative points of view in the various audiovisual technologies and supports. Students should be able to apply techniques and procedures within the composition of the image to the various audiovisual media, from knowledge of classical laws and the cultural and aesthetic movements in the history of the image through to new technologies of communication. This also includes knowledge of psychological models specifically developed for visual communication and persuasion.
  • CE10: Students should have both a theoretical and practical understanding of the scientific fundamentals of optics and the ability to process measurements in relation to the amount of light and chromatic quality during the construction of images, both in the professional field of photography and in the direction of photography for film and other video-graphic productions.
  • CE11: Students must have an understanding of the process of sound planning and the acoustic qualities of a space, as well as the formative elements of sound design. This knowledge should also cover the relationship between sound and image from the aesthetic and narrative point of view in different audiovisual supports and technologies. This also includes knowledge of the psychological models specifically developed for communication and persuasion through sound.
  • CE12: Students must have a theoretical and practical knowledge of the scientific fundamentals of acoustics, and the ability to develop measurements related to the quantities and qualities of sound during the audio construction process, as well as to record sound signals from any acoustic or electronic source and be able to mix these materials whilst taking into account the levels, effects and plans on the final mastered mix. Students must be capable of recreating the sound environment of an audiovisual or multimedia production, paying attention to the intention of the text and of the narration through the use of soundtrack and sound effects.
