Graduates in Journalism are professionals who are culturally, humanistically and technically prepared to function as interpreters of the social reality as they conceive, articulate, produce, administer, analyse and manage a variety of media, programmes and products in any medium: press, radio, TV and the Internet.
The Bachelor's Degree in Journalism is designed to provide a broad theoretical and practical multimedia knowledge: press, radio, TV and internet. These studies are based on social sciences (sociology, law, economics, political science) and the use of information and communication technologies (ICT).
This degree offers students a multi-specialisation in journalism dealing with society, politics, culture, economics, science and technology. Learning is based on a reflective, critical and experimental integration, with the complement of a compulsory internship period in media-related companies. The capacity for personal initiative, together with a good attitude towards team work are also necessary for the successful completion of this programme.
To obtain the Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, it is a requirement to accredit communicative competence in a foreign language at level B1. Recognition will be issued during the final year by means of one of these two options:
A) Providing a certificate of attainment of level B1, in accordance with the University of Valencia's L2 Language Accreditation Equivalence Table (ACGUV 156/2018 modified by ACGUV 147/2023).
B) In the specific case of English language, obtaining a passing grade in the elective subject 'Professional English for Journalists'.
