Two good friends Davy and Ally, return to Edinburgh after his duty in the war of Afghanistan. The two continue the couple relationships they had before: Ally with Liz and Davy with Yvonne. Meanwhile, parents of Davy, Rab and Jean, are busy planning their silver anniversary. All goes well until a revelation of Rab past threatens to destroy the family and separate the three couples.
