We can say that the university is now living a paradox: the presence of women in the university is increasing, however, this institution it has not let itself be transformed. It is still based on masculine models of knowledge, management, thought and work organisation.
We think that is necessary to recall the experience of women’s freedom in the university. It is important to show other forms of thinking it and living it, to make sense of it. A search for meaning that is a political commitment for men and women.
From the field of education we are committed to develop a critical stance in people against the dichotomous and stereotyped thinking by gender reasons and to include the recognition of care as a public good and citizen responsibility. We invite you to face the challenge of questioning the practices and epistemologies that continue to perpetuate androcentrism .
