The CADU marathon goes through the city of Valencia on Sunday 16 November
The first stop for individual sports within the Autonomous University Sports Championship (CADU) coincides with one of the biggest events in the city: the Trinidad Alfonso Valencia Marathon. The next Sunday, 16 November, eight members of the athletics team of the University will contest the most important long distance event in athletics together with 21,000 athletes competing in various popular categories on the Valencian asphalt.
Alberto Campillo, José Javier Palomares, Antonio Gómez, José David Moruno, Juan Carlos Serra, Francisco Blázquez, Jesús Sanchez and Ignacio Saldana, from the faculties of physiotherapy, economics, physics, physical activity and sport sciences and social sciences, will be responsible for representing the University in this great event under the direction of Rubén Picazo, coach of the team.
Athletes of the University will enjoy a full and quick tour of the most important areas of the city (Formula 1 Street Circuit, historic centre or port of the America’s Cup) and after passing the 42,195 km the event will culminate in an arrival on waters in front of the Príncipe Felipe Museum on a platform of more than 150 meters, one of the most attractive arrivals for a marathon in recent times and also the climax to an event that reflects the most remarkable values of sport: self-improvement and perseverance.
