Conferences 'Challenges for a GO! Culture. Local Transparency' in Sueca
Open government policies define a new social and democratic innovation framework that aims the empowerment of citizens to reach the power to know, control and influence permanently in public issues that affect them. In this context, the public value constitutes a essential element for the construction of a new way to understand democracy, government and Administration.
The open government is based on transparency, participation and accountability. Transparency constitutes the basis for providing the necessary information to know the scope of public policies. It is not only a matter of obeying local or state laws, but also allowing public opinion to access to truthful, accessible and available information in real-time and also about public authorities accountability.
The sessions, organised by the Valencian Council and Universitat de València, are celebrated in the regions of the province of Valencia, open to citizens and civil society. The aim is providing elected representatives and municipal technicians with transparency and open government through conferences given by expert university teachers in this issue.
