Cultural Foundations of Europe
Course coordinated by Vicente Claramonte Sanz and Jesús Alcolea Banegas
The reality or fiction of the European idea: arguing for its existence requires to answer at least this question beforehand: what are the cultural foundations shared by its members? Without these, the European entity would hardly transcend mere aggregation of nations: we will discuss the historical, political, social and philosophical elements underlying, European common culture, the synergy of which has brought new life to Europe as the experience with substantive and unitary identity.
