The prestigious italian writer Dacia Maraini will present in the Faculty of Filology her last novel "La bambina e il sognatore" (Rizzoli, 2016)
DACIA MARAINI (Fiésole, 1936) is one of the most accredited alive voices in the Italian literature. Poet, narrator, playwright and theater woman, essayist, journalist, author of children's literature, etc. has published many books that have been translated to different languages. Her first novel, "La vacanza" dates from 1962. In 1990 came the success of de "La lunga vita de Marianna Ucría" (brought to the cinema in 1997) and in 2004 "Colomba" was published, which had a great reception by the readers. The last one, "La bambina e il sognatore" (2016), starts with the disappearance of an 8-years-old girl in a little Italian town; a young teacher -who has recently lost his own daughter- will look for her strenuously.
Dacia Maraini’s brilliant career, recognised by the multiple awards she has received, her assiduous presence in the social communication media and her generous commitment with women and the weak, have made her become a privileged interlocutor of the contemporary Italian culture.
