The University of Valencia, through the Office of the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Participation, Alpuente's City Council collaborating with Imelsa, organise the conference “Endogenous resources and local development of the Serranía Alta”, activity framed on the Program “University and Territory”.

The conference aims to present endogenous resources available to the town of Alpuente and, in general, of the Valencian Serrania Alta, and analyze how they can be processed and used as products for the local development of the territory.

The most sustainable way to develop a local area is to value natural resources (landscape, forests, mountains ...) and cultural (monuments, festivals, gastronomy ...) available to attract tourists and visitors that contribute to sustaining local economy. Thus, people living in a rural area not only aren't forced to migrate to the city in order to improve their life expectancy, but can preserve their traditional lifestyle.

This initiative, organized by the Office of the Vice-Principal for Territorial Projection and Participation and Alpuente's City Council is directed to the general public. From the contributions of specialists in the area of "what is local" of the University of Valencia (economy, tourism, environment, culture ...) is to create a space for dialogue and reflection to analyze how it can be develop, in the more sustainable way, a local scope as Alpuente and environment.
