This edition corresponds to the catalogue of the individual exhibition of Juan González Fornés, coordinated from the Documentation Centre of Valencian Contemporary Art of the University of Valencia.

A brief critical approach is made, in a text by Enric Mira, on the poetics of the Valencian artist, which also includes images of his works that will be displayed at the exhibition room of Ademús Espai d’Art (AEA). This is the fifth of six samples for promotion of Valencian Contemporary Art made by the last generations of artists, and it has been programmed thanks to partnerships between the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Carlos of Valencia and Àmbit Cultural of El Corte Inglés. The dystopian look that Juan González had provided to the transformation of the urban landscape and its periphery in its previous series marked a turning point in his approach to photography. With Eugénesis, his interest has turned towards the human being as something also in permanent reconstruction, articulated in three parts. “Cartografía de lo inicial” (Mapping of the beginning) in which people who have marked on our author in the course of adolescence are introduced. “Cartografía de lo afectivo” (Mapping of emotions) showing women who have filled their sexual and emotional life, and finally, “Cartografía de lo creativo” (Mapping of creativity) where he shows us people who inspired him to engage in photography as a form of artistic expression.
