One of the fundamental objectives of neuroscience is to understand the biological mechanisms responsible for human mental activity. In particular, the study of the cerebral cortex constitutes the great challenge of science in the
coming centuries, since it represents the foundation of our humanity; that is, the activity of the cerebral cortex is related to the capacities that distinguish man from other mammals.
