La Cartografía del siglo XXI: Oportunidades y necesidades (Cartography of the XXI Century: Opportunities and needs)
Conference organized by the Office of the Vice‐Principal for Territorial Projection and Participation, in collaboration with the Botanical Garden and El Tossal Cartografies.
Cartography, the art and technique of making maps constitutes a traditional instrument to know the territory. From antiquity to the present time, different techniques have been taking place, which have become different cartographic representations; a process that has allowed the mapping elaboration with a higher accuracy and a higher level of organization in themes.
Recent editions of the cartography of La Calderona Natural Park have suggested to the University of Valencia the organisation of a conference for reflecting and reivindicating about the function of topographical and thematic maps in the knowledge of Valencian geography.
