Synopsis: Viena, 1900. Soldier Franz meets a prostitute, but he ends up having a relationship with a maid. She goes soon with the young man Alfred, who also has an affair with Emma, a married women. The millionaire husband of Emma has an affair with a dressmaker who is in love with Robert, a poet lover of an infatuated actress, who has an affair at the same time with a young gamemaster.
