"The public space as an artistic space". Validated for 1 free elective credit

In this seminar we will see and analyse the changes produced in the relationship between art and public space. We will focus on the main trends and most significant changes produced in this trend of contemporary art, achieving a chronology from the 1960s until now. The art in public space has been a constant that we can observe if we review the Art History. But the concept of public art has not been something static, it has been expanding in the course of time, and from a commemorative art focused on the representations of power, has been evolving towards a lost of the pedestal and even towards the inclusion of context and community by developing collaborative artistic practices.

It will be held on 24 and 26 September, from 16:00 to 19:30, and on 1 October from 16:00 to 19:00.
