The Biblioteca de Catalunya hosts the presentation of "La impremta catalana i els seus protagonistes", by Montserrat Comas i Güell
Book launch of «La impremta catalana i els seus protagonistas» in the Biblioteca de Catalunya.
The presentation of "La impremta catalana i els seus protagonistes a l'inici de la societat liberal (1800-1833)", a book by Montserrat Comas i Güell, will take place at the Biblioteca de Catalunya on 29 October.
The event will be presented by the director of the Biblioteca de Catalunya, Eugènia Serra. Francesc Fontbona, director of the Unitat Gràfica of the BC, and Manuel Llanas, professor at the University of Vic, will also participate.
The use of the printing press played a key role in the social and political transformation of the late Ancien Régime, at the birth of the communication society. This volume aims to show the debates arised, and the difficulties that had to be overcome to achieve new types of freedom. The book contains an alphabetical dictionary of printers and printing laws and other documents related to the book sphere.
