Jazz has a strong presence in our society, mainly through advertising and film. Even though the general public tends to be familiar with some of the main genres and performers, the knowledge about its origins and historical development is often limited or full of stereotypes. Crazy Rhythm! wants to be an introduction to jazz for people who are drawn to its sound, and a means to learn more about its history for those who already enjoy its syncopated rhythm.
Objectives: To complement the training of humanities students through the knowledge of jazz as a cultural expression, emphasising its social and historical context, its leading representatives and the diverse stylistic trends that integrate its evolution. To provide tools for listening and understanding, according to the different genres and formats of each piece.
