The men’s volleyball team of the Universitat de València moves to León to compete in the Spanish University Championship, held on 26 and 29 April, a championship they won last year.

The team coached by Juanjo Susín goes to this event after winning the the Regional University Sports Championship (CADU), where they didn’t lose a match, finishing with no defeats in their score.

Juanjo Susín, UV team coach, states that the team faces the championship “with great illusion. The experience of last year has been the driving force behind this season. The boys, beyond their good result achieved last year, want to compete in high level competition again, and struggle hard to get as much as possible. We know it's a championship that can be very different from last year, the teams may have been completely changed. Therefore, we participate with the same humility with which we compete last year and the same hunger for offering top performance or even a higher level of play, after so many trainings throughout the year. We are fully aware of previous years’ successes have nothing to do with this edition, since in this competition you can not have a bad day because it makes you lose the options you have. The other teams may see us as the current champions, but I think we shouldn’t face the Championship this way, since we have the same opportunities as everyone else, and competition will give us the real options of play and classification. We must remember that our success was in reward for all our work, invest and sacrifice to understand that this year will not be easy and that we must do it even better, with more dedication, commitment and effort.”
