Showing of the 'Doro Balaguer: Pintura, Política, Vida.' (Doro Balaguer: Painting, Politics, Life) with the collaboration of Miquel Francés, Francesc Pérez Moragon, Doro Balaguer, Antonio Ariño. Doro Balaguer has worked as a painter in two periods: from the end of the 50s to the early 60s and, after a long hiatus, from 2000. Both are linked by well defined stylistic features, the same that identified his paintings when he was a member of the Parpalló Group, renovator of the plastic arts in the Valencian Country. Besides, since an early stage, he adopted a political commitment which brought him prosecution from the dictatorship - which partly influenced his abandonment of painting - and made him become a leader of the Valencian section of the Spanish Communist Party y lo hizo dirigente, sucesivamente, del PCE valenciano; of the Left Grouping of the Valencian Country and the Left Unity of the Valencian Country. Doro Balaguer was condecorated with the University of Valencia Medal in March 2001.
