“El fin de la expansión. Del mundo-océano sin límites al mundo-isla”, by Ricardo Almenar. Along with Ricardo Almenar, Mª Àngels Ull. This book aims to introduce us to the root causes of the current multicrisis and which is nothing but the delay to replace the model of development of the industrial revolution for a sustainable model. The expansion of an oceanic world, as almost-infinite in extension and almost limitless in resources, relatively unpeopled and, therefore, appropiable, requires to make a move towards the sustainability of an island-world: a world fenced in extension, limited in resources, full but not brimming with people and which can only be shared. It is hard to make this U-turn – from the expansion of an oceanic world to the sustainability of an island - specially when none of our globalised industrial civilisation's aspects is to come out unscathed: technology, economy, politics, social behaviour, our view's on the world or its values.
