Opening ceremony of the 2023-2024 academic year.
European University Rugby Championship

The UV rugby team will go to Gödöllő (Hungary) to compete in the European University Championship, that will be held from 22 to 25 July.

The team coached by Marcos Armiñana will participate in the European event together with the National Sports Academy Vasil Levski (Bulgaria), University of Lausanne (Switzerland), RWTH Aachen University (Germany), Universite Paul Sabatier Toulouse (France), Teaching National University SEU (Georgia), Szent István University (Hungary), Centro Universitario Sportivo Milano (Italy), Utrecht University (Netherlands), FADU Portugal and Catholic University of Portugal – Porto (Portugal), Sibirean Federal University (Russia) and the Middle East Technical University (Turkey).

“We are training and getting ready for this event for a month and a half. Today is the last training session and we can’t wait to arrive to Hungary. We look forward to see our rivals and know the level of play”. Regarding the team, Armiñana admits that “it has been extremely hard for us to get ready because it is a tournament during the off-season, but after a month and a half of training we expect to be in good shape and show a good level”.

As in previous university sporting events, the Physical Education and Sports Service will cover the events live and follow up the teams throughout the official social networks (Twitter: @sefuv and www.facebook.com/SEFUV) in which it will inform all its followers on the results of each and every encounter.
