
Today, at 17:30, the Aulario Interfacultativo in Burjassot Campus (Charles Darwin hall) is hosting the awards ceremony of III Olimpiada de Geología and IX Olimpiada de Biología. The winners are receiving a grant for their registration in any of the degrees of Universiat de València next 2012-2013 academic year.
In case any of the winners have already won a free registration in the university, they will get a grant for books and study materials.
Isabel Vázquez Navarro, Vice-principal for Studies and Language Policy, Javier Lluch Tarazona, Dean in the Facultat de Ciències Biològiques, Miguel V. Pardo, Geology’s Olympics’ coordinator, y María José Lorente Carchano, Biology Olympics’ coordinator and delegate for the University Integration are attending the event.
65 students in the first and second levels of the upper secondary schools in both public and private centres in Valencia applied to this 3rd edition of the Geology Olympics. The test was taken last February the 3rd in the Aulario Interfacultativo (Charles Darwin hall) of Burjassot Campus.
The winners of the Geology Olympics are Miquel Pardo Doménech, IES José Rodrigo Botet de Manises (València); Marta Rodrigo Rodrigo, IES Camp de Túria de Llíria (València); Joan Murgui Gálvez, IES Camp de Túria de Llíria (València), and Alexis Lledó Garrido, IES Pere d’Esplugues, de la Pobla Llarga (València).
These students took part in the 3rd national phase of the Geology Olympics in Santander, March 24th and 25th, 2012.
190 students in the Valencia province participated in the 9th Biology Olympics. The test took place simultaneously at the three universities in the province –Universitat d’Alacant, Universitat Jaume I and Universitat de València (Burjassot Campus’ Aulario Interfacultativo)– last February 24th at 16:30.

The winners of the Biology Olympics are Marta Dafne Cabañero Navalón, Colegio IALE de l’Eliana (València); Alejandro Mossi Albiach, IES Riba-roja de Túria (València); Cristina Bono Tapp, CE Más Camarena de Paterna (València); Carla Leal Ferrandis, CE Más Camarena de Paterna (València); Andrés González Ochando, IES Número 1 de Requena (València); Joan Márquez Molins, Centro Salesianos San Antonio Abad de València; Celia Borja Almarcha, IES San Vicent Ferrer de Algemesí (València); Francisco Auñón Niñas, Colegio IALE de l’Eliana (València); Carlos Puig Navarro, IES Lluís Vives de València, and María Jurado Sornosa, IES Distrito Marítimo de València.
Moreover, Marta Dafne Cabañero Navalón, Alejandro Mossi Albiach and Cristina Bono Tapp have represented the Valencian Community in the VII National Biology Olympics, which was celebrated at Universidad de Murcia last March 22th and 25th, 2012.
