The objective of this line is to understand the role of disturbances on biodiversity from an ecological and evolutionary perspective. To this end, we study how disturbances, and changes in their regime, shape biodiversity, with special emphasis on fire and forest fires. Research is conducted at different biological scales (populations, communities, ecosystems, landscapes, biomes), and addresses evolutionary aspects of functional ecology, fire ecology, regeneration ecology, interaction ecology, or global ecology.
