This procedure allows the provisional title of the doctoral thesis recorded in the doctoral candidate’s academic record to be amended.
The title of the thesis may evolve as the research progresses; therefore, it may be updated where the scientific content of the thesis justifies such a change.

A change must be requested when:

• the original title no longer adequately reflects the subject or scope of the research;
• there are significant changes to the scientific approach of the thesis;
• the final title is to be incorporated before the doctoral thesis is submitted.

The change to the title is proposed by the PhD student with the approval of the thesis supervisor and must be authorised by the Academic Committee of the PhD Programme

The Academic Committee of the Doctoral Programme is responsible for approving changes to the title of the doctoral thesis.

Changes can be made at any time during the PhD programme, prior to the submission of the thesis. Once the thesis has been submitted, it is no longer possible to change its title.La modificació es pot tramitar en qualsevol moment durant els estudis de doctorat, previ al dipòsit de tesi. Once the amendment has been approved, the Academic Committee will notify the Doctoral School, which will incorporate the change into the doctoral student’s academic record.

To this end, the Academic Committee must:

1.  Complete the form available on the Doctoral School’s website: Administrative information > Guides and forms > Forms for administrative procedures > Thesis title amendment.
2. The document must be signed by:

•  the new supervisor and/or director
•  the coordinator of the Doctoral Programme.

3.  Send the authorisation document for the amendment via the internal courier service within the Doctoral School

The Academic Committee must submit the documentation via the University of Valencia’s electronic document exchange system, selecting:
