The services supported on our software server include customized license assignments, information about license numbers and how to obtain them, as well as direct downloads of software or instructions on how to download it.

Authorized users of these programs are those who maintain an active relationship with the University of Valencia (UV), including enrolled students, employed teaching and research staff (PDI), and employed administrative and technical staff (PTGAS). Therefore, the termination of this relationship with the UV entails the loss of the right to access the licenses and services obtained through it, and access may be blocked either by the software vendors or by the UV without the need for any additional notice.

IMPORTANT: Please note that the Windows operating system distributed by the University is offered exclusively as an upgrade.
For this reason, all devices purchased to use Windows must already have a basic Windows license installed.

 

 

SOFTWARE UV NEWS

  • ✅ 2026-04-22: Microsoft 365 Copilot Education is made available to the university community. This product is subject to a fee, is not intended for students, and is personal and non-transferable. All information and terms and conditions are available on the product’s website.

  • ✅ 17/04/2026: The following applications have been updated: ACDLabs Chemsketch v.202521 for Windows; AdoptOpenJDK v.25 for Windows, Linux and macOS; SMeagol v.1.0.2 for Windows, Linux and macOS, as well as the ZorinOS operating system to version 18.0.

  • ✅ 2026-03-24: All Windows 10 versions have been removed. Currently, only Windows 11 Enterprise v.25H2-1 is available.

  • ✅ 2026-03-24: HyperResearch and Hypertranscribe have been removed for Windows and MacOS platforms.

    ✅ 2026-03-24: Various cross-platform applications have been updated, including Linux distributions (CentOS v.10, Debian v.13.4.0), office suites (LibreOffice v.26.2.0), virtualization tools and utilities (Virtual Clone Drive, Ventoy), development environments (Lazarus, KiCad, LaTeX), academic and scientific software (Maxima, Octave, PSPP, Stellarium v.25.4), accessibility tools (NVDA), multimedia applications (OBS Studio), and compression/management utilities (PeaZip).
    Specific tools such as TunnelBlick (macOS) and Zotero (bibliographic management) have also been updated.

    ✅ 2026-03-03: The University of Valencia has enabled a new access system for AutoCAD and Revit through the platform https://software.uv.es. This mechanism allows students to use both tools via the UV’s institutional authentication, without the need to register or log in directly with Autodesk.

  • ✅ 2026-03-03: Update of Oracle VirtualBox to version 7.2.6 for Windows, Linux, MacOS, and Solaris platforms.

  • ✅ 2026-03-03: Update of LibreOffice to version 26.2.0 for Windows, Linux, and MacOS platforms.

  • ✅ 2026-02-11: Mathematica -Wolfram- software has been updated to version 14.3 for Windows, MacOS, and Linux systems. Instructions on how to validate the license online are also included.

  • ✅ 2026-01-15: This software has been updated: SPSS Statistics versión 30 for Windows and MacOS, versió 31 for Windows and MacOS, SPSS AMOS versió 30 i 31 for Windows, Windows Server 2025, Matlab versió r2025B for Windows MacOS and Linux, and finally MathType versió 7.9.1.454 for Windows.

  • ❌ 2026-01-15: Windows PE has been retired.

  • ℹ️ 2025-12-03: Update for Windows 11 and error correction with Office 2021 LT for Windows. The latest version of Windows 11, 25H2.1, has been uploaded. The problem with downloading Office 2021 Professional version for Windows has also been resolved.
