Full professor of Constitutional Law at the Universitat de València and researcher at the Human Rights Institute of the Universitat de València.

She received the Teaching Excellence Award from the Board of Trustees of the UV in its 2018 edition.

She is the author of the monographs: El Comité Económico y Social de las Comunidades Europeas (Mc Graw-Hill, Madrid, 1996); La guerra de las Cortes: una revisión de la jurisprudencia del Tribunal Supremo a través del recurso de amparo (Tecnos, Madrid, 1999); La libertad ideológica del juez (Tirant lo Blanch, Valencia, 2004); Trata sexual de mujeres. De la represión del delito a la protección de la víctima (Ministry of Justice, 2007); Prostitución y Trata. Marco Jurídico y Régimen de derechos (Coord.) (Tirant lo Blanch, 2007); La selección de jueces en Estados Unidos, (Civitas, 2011); Multidiscriminación en los ordenamientos jurídicos español y europeo (Coord.) (Tirant lo Blanch, 2013); Rights and Freedoms in the Spanish Constitution (Tirant lo Blanch 2015).

She has also written numerous legal articles published in national and international scientific journals, and in collective books, on Community Law and Constitutional Law (fundamental rights, equality and non-discrimination, relations between the constitutional and ordinary jurisdictions, Constitutional Court, Judiciary, national security, etc.).

In Spain, she has been a researcher in numerous Research and Development (R&D) projects funded by the Ministry of Education or by the Generalitat Valenciana, in two of them as principal investigator, where she has worked on the reform of the autonomous State, the reform of the State in Latin America, regional parliaments, the principle of gender equality, trafficking in human beings, and terrorism and human rights. She is currently part of a research project on security.

She has collaborated in various international programmes, giving training in the Polish Senate on the participation of national parliaments in the European Union; in the Doctoral Programme of the Universidad Andina Simón Bolivar, Quito (Ecuador); in the Doctoral Programme of the Universitat de València-Universidad Hernán Cortés, Xalapa-Veracruz (Mexico); in the Master on Constitutional Law taught in Caracas, (Venezuela) and organised by the Ombudsman's Office of Venezuela and the Universitat de València; and in the Master on Constitutional Law at the Autonomous University of Honduras, taught in Tegucigalpa (Honduras).

During her research career she has carried out, among others, stays at: the University of Minnesota (USA), Université de Montpellier (France), Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium), Université Catholique de Louvain-la Neuve (Belgium), Universita "La Sapienza" (Rome), International Institute of Human Rights of Strasbourg (France) and the Académie internationale de Droit Constitutionnel (Tunisia), Cardozo School of Law (New York-USA).

In terms of management, she currently holds the position of Vice-Dean of the undergraduate degree in Law, is Co-Director of the Master in Human Rights at the University, and Secretary of the Doctorate in Law, Political Science and Criminology at the Faculty of Law. She is also a member of the Board of the Faculty of Law.
