The Lifelong Learning and Educational Innovation Service (SFPIE) and the Office of the Vice-Principal for Lifelong Learning, Educational Transformation and Employability coordinates different training actions addressed to the administrative and service staff (PAS) and the teaching and research staff (PDI) of the university. These actions are developed in collaboration with the Agència de Prevenció i Lluita contra el Frau i la Corrupció de la Comunitat Valenciana (AVAF) (Valencian for Agency for the Prevention and Fight against Fraud and Corruption of the Valencian Community).

The Hoja de ruta sobre las medidas de integridad pública, la prevención y la lucha contra el fraude, la corrupción y los conflictos de interés (Spanish for Roadmap on public integrity measures, preventing and fighting against fraud, corruption and conflicts of interest) , approved by the Governing Council (ACGUV2021-303), includes among its objectives “the proposal of training and information measures on public integrity for all levels of management and management staff”.

Regarding these measures, the Lifelong Learning and Educational Innovation Service of the Office of the Vice-Principal for Lifelong Learning, Educational Transformation and Employability coordinates different training actions aimed at the university’s PAS and PDI with the collaboration of the training team of the Agència de Prevenció i Lluita Contra el Frau i la Corrupció de la Comunitat Valenciana (AVAF) (Valencian for Agency for the Prevention and Fight against Fraud and Corruption of the Valencian Community).

A first edition of the course was held in March, with the participation of the people in charge of different general and central services.

During the month of June a second edition will be completed, aimed at those responsible for the administration of the faculties and other centres of the Universitat de València.

Within the framework of the close collaboration between the AVAF and the Universitat de València, a third edition of this training activity has been designed with unique characteristics.

Firstly, the course is inter-university in nature and will involve the five Valencian public universities. In addition to the Universitat de València, the other sessions of the course will be held at the Universitat Politècnica de València (July), the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (September), the Universitat Jaume I of Castelló (October) and the University of Alacant (November). All sessions will be streamed to participants from universities not hosting the session.

The modules for three-hour training activity, with a methodology that integrates lectures, audio-visuals, workshops and debates, address aspects such as the origin, functions and independence of the AVAF; the costs of corruption and public policies against corruption in Europe and Spain; the methodology of the Inspecció General de Serveis de la Generalitat Valenciana (Valencian for General Inspectorate of Services of the Valencian Government), for the elaboration of risk exposure maps, risk self-assessment plans and their application in the field of public procurement and personnel management; the cycle of the fight against corruption; or initiatives for the prevention of fraud, corruption in public management and public integrity.

The persons responsible for the training will be the director of the AVAF, Joan A. Llinares; Anselm Bodoque, head of the Training Service of the AVAF; Irene Bravo, head of the Prevention Service of the AVAF; Delia Cuenca and José Luis Gaona, from the General Inspection of Services of the Valencian Government; Pilar Moreno and Marita Oliver, training technicians of the Training Service of the AVAF; and Cristina Fernández, researcher in training at the University of Salamanca.

This inaugural act of the course will be the gateway for the constitution session of the Public Integrity Committee of the Universitat de València, which will be chaired by the Principal. It will be held on June the 7th in the Office of the Principal building with a lecture by the director of the AVAF and will be attended by nearly one hundred people responsible for the Universitat de València at different levels. At the end of the session, the Public Integrity Committee will be constituted under the chairmanship of the Principal.
